The NEHRA Community Forums (formerly Special Interest Groups) are an integral part of networking at NEHRA.  They help to link members across interests and concerns. 

The Benefits of Community Forum Participation and Leadership

•    Opportunities to network with other NEHRA members on a regular basis
•    Opportunities to develop leadership skills
•    Opportunities to share useful information and best practices within the Community Forum content area

Community Forums are designed to be relevant and accessible to all our members.  Each Community Forum is structured in similar ways allowing for the needs and difference of its constituents.  The basic structure of all NEHRA community Forums is as follows:

•    Meets a minimum of 4 times per year with at least 2 meetings held at the NEHRA offices
•    Provides meeting schedule to NEHAR to be posted on the NEHRA website
•    Uses the designated NEHRA Message Board to communicate Community Forum events and to act as the electronic communication vehicle for the 

     group with open access to all NEHRA members

•    Provides facilitated discussions or presentations on a topic/issue of interest at Community Forum Meetings
•    Provides networking opportunities for members
•    Create a leadership structure that would ensure the efficient functioning and communication for the group

Some of the Community Forums may want to organize and present workshops and seminars through NEHRA’s Professional Development department.  These workshops and seminars would continue to be managed by the Director of Professional & Business Development.  The Community Forum is encouraged to create a project team who could function as a NEHRA Committee and would do the planning for events or programming.
